About this work

The peace negotiations on 23-25 December 1601 between the States' army in the city and the besieging troops of Archduke Albert. The people have gathered on both sides of the fortress walls and river. Bottom right a cartouche with an inscription in Latin. Above the print the title with explanation of the numbers, at the bottom a description of the events, in German. Part of the illustrations for a journal of the siege of Ostend 1601-1604.
