Complaint of the South Sea Company, 1720. The female personification of the South Sea Company with her children lying among books of debt on a sofa. Against a background of books labeled: Library of a Sorrowful Shareholder. With small scenes of other failed enterprises; top left, shares are being shouted out by a man. Below the representation, a caption with a three-column verse printed from a separate plate. Print in the bound first edition (304 B 10) of Het Groote Tafereel der Dwaasheid with satirical prints on the Wind Trade or Share Trading of 1720.
