About this work

The Rogstekers of Weert. Satirical print in which various fools in the town of Waert (Weert in Limburg) march to battle against (the imaginary danger of) a dead ray. In the center a large ray, upon which a cannon is being fired. To the left rear a mill; to the right rear a tree with a bell being rung. Over the entire sheet countless figures with various attributes and explanatory texts. Longer verses in three corners.
