About this work

The Rogstekers of Weert, ca. 1650. Satire in which all kinds of different fools in the small town of Waert (Weert in Limburg) go to battle against (the imaginary danger of) a dead ray. In the middle a large ray on which a cannon is fired. In the background right a mill; in the background left a tree to which a bell is being rung. Over the whole sheet countless figures with different attributes and explanatory texts. In three corners longer verses.
