About this work
The Rogstekers of Weert, ca. 1650. Satirical print in which all kinds of different fools in the town of Waert (Weert in Limburg) go to battle against (the imaginary danger of) a dead ray. In the middle a large ray, on which a cannon is fired. Left rear a mill; right rear a tree to which a bell is being rung. Over the whole sheet countless figures with different attributes and explanatory texts. In three corners longer verses.
