About this work

Election of King Charles III of Spain (Archduke Charles of Austria) as Holy Roman Emperor Charles VI, 12 October 1711. Center, an allegorical representation of the election of Charles in a throne room with Mercury in the foreground. The whole framed in a very richly decorated ornamental border with allegorical figures and emblems. Bottom, a cartouche with a description of the events in German. Sheet in the bound collection of plates published under the title: Repraesentatio belli ... Der Spanische Successions-Krieg [ca. 1720].
