About this work

Strip of natural-colored mixed lace: Venetian bobbin lace. Pattern of vertically winding ribbons around each other with runners bearing flowers and leaves. Irregular, open ground with picoted spools of needle lace. The contours of flowers and leaves are formed by the winding, woven ribbons. Within the contours various decorative grounds of needle lace. The upper side is edged with a border of bobbin lace. The underside is finished with a straight picot edge with arches.
