About this work

Strip of natural-colored needle lace: punto in aria. The repeating pattern consists of an oak leaf contour containing alternately a pomegranate or a starburst. Between the oak leaves stands a French lily. The motifs are constructed from festoon stitches, partly with openwork. The motifs are connected by an irregular, open bar ground with picots. The shell edge forms from the oak leaf motif and is finished with picots. The top side of the strip is finished straight with a knotted band.
