About this work

Parasol with a cover of black silk with a scattered motif of white bota and red stripes, lined with dark red silk, on a thin bamboo stick with a carved ivory handle and metal tip. Ribs of black lacquered steel. Closure by means of narrow black elastic with an ivory ornament that is hooked behind a double copper hook. Twisted silk cord with a matching ring and two silk pom-poms. The ivory handle is fluted and has a carved ring at the end.
