Relief in gray unglazed clay, depicting Apollo

Relief in grey fired clay, depicting Apollo, modelled after one of the models for the marble relief in the south-west corner of the gallery of the Paleis-Stadhuis in Amsterdam by Artus Quellinus or his workshop. Standing, nude figure, the right knee slightly bent, the left leg extended. In the left hand a bow, with the right hand drawing an arrow from the quiver hanging on the back behind the left shoulder. A small cloak covers the pubic area and is held up at the level of the stomach. The head is directed downwards to the left, crowned with laurels; sandals on the feet. Behind the figure, a python lies on its back coiling. Behind it, to the right, a lyre. Frame at the top and bottom with an unadorned profile, bottom slightly convex. Right arm missing, as well as a fragment of the fluttering cloak. Crack through the upper right corner and pieces of the frame flaked off.
