About this work

Church chair of rosewood. The chair is folding, has an upholstered seat and rests on side trestles. These are connected at the front and back by flat, serpentine slats. The trestles are straight S-shaped, connected by pins with ebony caps and double-volute-shaped cutouts on the inner side at the level of the slats. The back has three flat, serpentine cross-slats. The side trestles have two turned-away lions resting on Ionic capitals as shield-bearers. The upholstery is new.
