About this work
Cupboard of walnut. The lower cupboard is decorated on the central and corner stiles with herm-caryatids and herm-atlantes; on the rear corner console with a female head and on the front corner with a female figure with goat legs. The panels are decorated with scrollwork, a mask, and palmettes. The central and corner stiles of the upper cupboard carry lightly draped female figures and a nude male figure. On the panels Mars and Bellona. On top a separate superstructure with animals, mythical creatures, and herm pieces. Inside the initials D R D (?) and the date 1591.
