About this work
Linen damask napkin with acanthus volutes. Central field: Two upright guiding lines of broad, wavy vines are placed symmetrically. The vines are branched with numerous volutes and end in large fantasy flowers with variously patterned inner designs. Standing and lying borders, separated by a line, show a single vine with large leaf and flower motifs. In the corners, a fleur-de-lys-shaped leaf palmette. Along the edges, a block border.
