About this work

Folding fan with double leaf of silk organza, painted in tempera with a blonde forest nymph with wings in a landscape, on a mother-of-pearl mount. Mount: 18 non-connected ribs, copper fan ring, tassel of silk and chenille. Leaf: double silk organza, with a cartouche containing a tempera (?) painting of a blonde forest nymph with wings and veil plus a dove in a landscape. Edges of Duchesse bobbin lace. Signed in red paint: de Snessoog.
