About this work

Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace, Old Flemish lace. In the elongated semi-circular shells stands a repeating and symmetrical motif of two palmettes with seven lobes placed one above the other. Each shell is surrounded by eleven lobes up to the straight top edge. The pattern is built up from a winding strip in linen stitch and braids. The upper palmettes have in the center a flower (or star) consisting of six petals made in shape stitch.
