About this work

Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace, Old Flemish lace. Pattern of linked and symmetrical shells consisting of a hanging fan flower with an open flower heart, in a trapezium-shaped vase. This flower forms the center of the shell and is surrounded by a border of fan-shaped flowers, which also form the edge of the shell. A larger fan-shaped flower forms the connection between the shells. The motifs are connected to each other by a plaited ground. The motifs are made in linen stitch with few cutouts, but with openwork edges. The upper side is edged with a border of bobbin lace.
