About this work
Bobbin lace strip, gold lace. The pattern consists of shells with fan shapes, arising below and above a broad wavy band of vertically stretched threads. The shells consist alternately of a fan crowned by a smaller fan and a heart crowned by a fan. In the heart, a small cross is made in form stitch. Work was done with lamé gold thread, smooth filé yarns and ribbed filé yarns, in different thicknesses.
