Strip of brown needle lace with an imperial-crown-shaped flower between acanthus leaves

Strip of brown needle lace. The repeating and symmetrical pattern consists in the middle of an imperial crown-like flower between acanthus leaves and on each side flanked by a strip-width filling, lying C-scroll. Each C-scroll is formed by a narrow acanthus leaf and encloses a loop-shaped flower with moon-shaped petals. The motifs are made with festoon stitches and provided with light relief contours. The motifs are connected by a sparingly picoted bar ground. The upper side of the strip is finished straight. The shallow scalloped edge at the lower side of the strip results from the pattern.
