About this work

Armchair (from a pair), upholstered in gros and petitpoint. The diagonally placed straight S-shaped legs end in flat box hooves and carry decorations of carved acanthus leaves on the swellings. The same motif appears on the S-shaped curved armrest supports, which support the slightly arched armrests, ending in a volute. Trapezium-shaped seat frame. The upholstery shows birds and a male and female figure. See: BK-1955-43-b; modern chairs; at a: upholstery perhaps also old.
