Tablecloth of linen damask with Samson. Central field: the symmetrically doubled pattern shows seven scenes from bottom to top: 1 Samson with the gates of the city gate. Inscription ± GASA). 2 Delilah cuts the locks of his strength from Samson, with his head on her lap. The Philistines stand in ambush on the right. 3 Samson seizes the two middle pillars of the Philistine temple, which he causes to fall on himself and the crowd. 4 In the vineyard of Timna, Samson tears the jaws of a lion apart. 5 In the fields of the Philistines, Samson releases foxes to which he has bound torches, so that grain and grapevines burn. 6 With an ass's jawbone, Samson strikes down a thousand Philistines. 7 Samson, as a caller of a spring, kneels in Lechi, and the water spurts up, with which he quenches his thirst.
