About this work

Strip of natural-colored needle lace: Alençon lace. Pattern with rows of scattered leaf branches on a fine hexagonal mesh ground. The pattern at the lower edge of the strip consists of medallions strung together by curved branches, filled with various decorative grounds. The upper side is finished with a straight edge. The lower side is finished with a scalloped edge derived from the pattern.
