About this work

Lid of a butter dish of polychrome faience with Kakiemon decoration. The lid has a gilded, recumbent cow as a finial. The parts are painted in the muffle colors blue, red, green, black, and gold with two bound hedges, a flowering tree, a bird on a branch, and loose birds. The butter dish is marked and there is an identical example with accession number BK-1968-199-a.
