Strip of bobbin lace with C-shaped branches with heart-shaped flower

Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace, Valenciennes lace. The repeating pattern consists of a slender branch with small flowers and leaves and at the end one large heart-shaped flower, from which a branch springs with three rosette flowers. The branch lies along the lower edge of the strip and bends around, forming the letter c. A strongly curling leaf forms a circle in this c. On the upper half of the strip stands above each c-shaped branch a loose flower branch. The motifs are connected by a fine mesh ground, the net ground. The sparse solid work is made in linen stitch, with thicker and shiny contour threads. Several decorative grounds have been applied, including a rose ground. The upper edge is finished straight. The scalloped lower edge is finished with picots.
