Strip of bobbin lace with flower and leaf motifs above a border with small flowers, volutes and elongated cartouches

Strip of natural-colored Brussels bobbin lace. The pattern consists of flower branches, which alternate originating from the top and bottom of the strip. They are large flowers or flower clusters that all differ from each other. Distinguishable are rosette flowers, a cluster with plume-shaped small flowers, a large lily and a cluster of small flowers with five pointed leaves. Along the bottom the pattern consists of a series of smaller flowers, in particular rosette flowers, leaves and elongated cartouches and volutes. The motifs are connected by a fine mesh ground, a drochel ground. The work is largely made in linen stitch with openwork edges and few cutouts and partly in net stitch. Most motifs are provided with bobbin-worked relief contours. Several ornamental grounds are applied, including picoted plait grounds, a snowflake ground and an ornamental ground with a diamond pattern. The top is finished with a separate bobbin-worked band.
