Strip of bobbin lace with fan-shaped flowerpots and rosette flowers

Strip of natural-coloured bobbin lace, Antwerp flowerpot lace. The repeating and symmetrical pattern consists of a fan-shaped flower pot, which is flanked on the left and right by a loose circle along the top edge and directly below it along the bottom edge by an oval cartouche intersected by a rosette flower. The motifs are connected by a diamond-shaped mesh ground. The motifs are made in linen stitch with few cutouts and with thicker contour threads. As a decorative ground a snowflake ground is used between the flowers in the pot, in the circle and in the cartouche. Top and bottom edges are finished straight, with the bottom edge provided with picots. The short sides are finished with a hem.
