Strip of bobbin lace with hanging roses

Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace: Mechelen lace. Under a scatter pattern hang closely placed roses that form the scalloped edge. At each branch sits at the top one small rosette flower on a side branch, and under five leaves on the hanging branch hangs one oval rose. The motifs are worked in linen stitch with some cutouts and provided with thicker and shiny contour threads. The motifs are connected by a trellis ground, the Mechelen ground. In the oval roses is a ground with some blocks in shape stitch. The upper edge of the strip is straight finished. The scalloped edge is finished with a picot edge, which forms half-round shells around the hanging roses.
