Strip Natural-Colored Bobbin Lace: Mechelen Lace. Under a Scatter Pattern of One-Sidedly Directed Branches with Always One Round Flower Attached to It Consists the Repeating Pattern of the Scalloped Border from a Curved Branch. Between Two Leaf Volutes on This Branch Hangs a Large Composite Flower Downwards. The Flower Consists of a Drop-Shaped Flower Heart Where a Half Wreath of Five Rosette Flowers Lies Around It. Each Successive Flower Forms in This Way a Semicircular Scallops. The Motifs Are Made in Linen Stitch and Provided with Thicker and Shiny Contour Threads. The Motifs Are Connected to Each Other by a Fine Mesh Ground, a Mechelen Ground. In the Drop-Shaped Flower Hearts a Coarser Ornamental Ground Is Applied with Therein Blocks Made in Form Stitch. The Scalloped Border Is Finished with Picots. The Top Side of the Strip Is Finished Straight.
