About this work

Strip of natural-colored needle lace: Alençon lace. Scatter pattern of three-leaf branches and grapevines on a fine hexagonal mesh ground. The grapevines, with two leaves on either side, lie diagonally adjacent to one another. A series of picoted circles forms a regular arch border winding along the branches; this also serves as the finish at the lower edge of the strip. The upper side is edged with a bobbin lace border.
