Strip of mixed lace with a small rose in a medallion

Strip of natural-coloured mixed lace: Brussels duchesse. Partly symmetrical pattern with rosette flowers, leaves and some feathered leaves of various sizes. In the centre stands a more or less round medallion of C-volutes, containing a rose within the frame. Except for the filling of the medallion, all motifs are bobbin lace in linen stitch with fine cutouts, openwork edges, contour threads and partly bobbin lace relief contours. The bobbin lace motifs are connected by plaits. The filling in the medallion is needle lace, with a rose on a mesh lace ground. The top edge of the strip is finished straight. The shell edge derives from the pattern with the rosette flowers and leaves and is finished with picots.
