About this work

Linen damask napkin with the Emmaus disciples in two scenes, namely: 1. Christ and the Emmaus disciples walking among trees, 2. Christ behind a table where he breaks the bread with Simon and Cleopas sitting at the table watching. The woven inscription reads: LUCAS XXII CAP. The running border has a wavy line with flowers and birds. The napkin is marked with the embroidered year 1671 and the openwork letters LVV. The napkin belongs with a napkin with inventory no. BK-1973-160-B.
