About this work

Linen damask napkin with a hunting scene. Central field: the symmetrical pattern shows three scenes from bottom to top: 1 Gentleman with falconer and dog before a Renaissance building. On the roof a peacock. On the side a tree with an owl. 2 Stag bitten in the back by two dogs and one dog jumping up before it. 3 Gentleman with hunting horn and sword on horseback among trees. Standing and lying borders: winding branches with large leaves, flowers, fruits, and birds; outside a block border. Corners: stylized rosette.
