About this work
High hat of black high-gloss silk plush. The hat has a cylindrical crown with a slightly vaulted brim. Lined with white silk lining over cardboard (?). White leather headband. Black, dull taffeta ribbon set along the crown and brim. Inside the hat two stamps: one with the text 'exposition universelles/importé' and one with the firm name H. Hendriksen from Arnhem. In a conical imitation leather box, three straps for closure and handle, hanging strap for the hat.
