About this work
Strip of linen batiste with an insert of natural-coloured Dutch bobbin lace. The lace has a repeating motif consisting of vertical straight lines, which are crossed in the middle by a pointed oval. Between the vertical lines stand two stylised flowers, which are mirrored over the length axis. The motifs are made in closely worked linen stitch with cut-outs. There is hardly any ground, the motifs are held together by very short braids.
