Strip of bobbin lace with hanging pear-shaped flower and stripes and check pattern

Strip of natural-coloured bobbin lace, Binche lace. The repeating pattern consists of a pear-shaped flower hanging diagonally downwards, with a lobed edge around the rounded part. The pointed leaf diagonally below it points the other way and also has a lobed edge, along which at the top a ribbon with a curled end slides down. From the ribbon to the next pear-shaped flower the pattern is filled with diagonal stripes and diamonds. The stripes and diamonds are separated by a whimsical leaf, which hangs diagonally downwards from the top of the pattern. The motifs stand against each other and overlap partially. Where they do not touch, they are connected by a fine ground, a snowflake ground, which is also used as a ground in the flower. The motifs are made in linen stitch and net stitch with openwork edges and with loose snowflakes. The upper side of the strip is finished with a separately bobbin-worked band. The lower side is more or less straight finished.
