Bridal Veil of Appliqué Lace with Rosette-shaped and Bell-shaped Cartouches and Floral Scrolls

Bridal veil of natural-colored Brussels bobbin lace combined with needle lace ornamentation and applied on a drochel ground: Brussels appliqué lace. The veil has the shape of two bell forms placed against each other, where the round part of the elongated bell would have served as a head covering and the round part of the other bell the end of the train. The pattern is symmetrical, with a rosette-shaped, a bell-shaped, and two interlocking diamond-shaped cartouches made with leaf and flower garlands, each containing a flower branch, running from top to bottom along the length axis. Along the width axis from point to point, there are four more rosette-shaped cartouches, and above and below a total of four bell-shaped cartouches. The cartouches are interconnected and surrounded by garlands and scattered star-shaped flowers. The pattern around the veil consists of a border with V-shaped motifs originating from the flat shell border of stretched ovals.
