About this work

Perken carpet, Yuruk nomad carpet, also called "Sultan". Central field: raspberry-red field with three lying rectangles in red, transitioning halfway to dark blue. Within each field, an octagon with a cross and a second rectangle in red and dark blue with flowers in mauve, yellow, orange, light blue, etc. Border: triple. The main border is orange with loosely drawn flowers within speckled wreaths, also in flesh colors. Inner and outer selvages are equal, with diagonal compressed S-shapes in light shades.
