About this work

In the right medallion, two putti with burning torches, and in the left medallion, a classically dressed woman with love or wedding wreaths. Finely carved mount decorated with love symbolism. Right outer leg: altar with two doves, burning torch, recumbent beast, staff, trophy with lute, trophy with burning torch and bagpipes. Left outer leg, same. Handle part of mount: two hearts in a medallion, trophy with bagpipes and quiver, bow with a basket of flowers and fruit, altar with burning hearts, in the center: altar with recumbent beast. The back of the leaf is unadorned.
