Folding fan with a paper leaf painted in watercolor and gold, centrally depicting the meeting between Ruth and Boaz during the harvest, flanked by cartouches with fruit, on an open frame of carved ivory inlaid with gold leaf and gold. In the central, gold-bordered cartouche, Ruth looks surprised at Boaz, the owner of the grain field, who has 'caught' her harvesting. In the background stands another woman, and to the right a boy stacks sheaves of grain on a cart. This is flanked by small oval medallions containing a classical vase and larger panes filled with grapes, apples, pears, peaches, and melons. The whole is adorned with floral garlands. On the back of the leaf, in the center, is a leaf and flower motif. The frame with fourteen ribs has a central cartouche with a quiver flanked by medallions with flowers. On the closing ribs are quivers, garlands, and fantasy motifs. The closing pin is of copper with rhinestones.
