Folding fan with a paper leaf painted in watercolor and gold, featuring three medallions centrally depicting a scene at an inn, flanked by putti with birds, on a frame of ivory inlaid with gold leaf and silver. In the center on the front of the leaf is an oval medallion showing the horses of a carriage being given water and food at an inn(?), with two gesticulating men and a terrier dog in the foreground. The medallion is surrounded by a golden laurel wreath and topped with a golden vase or urn. The round medallion on the left is filled with two pink putti with a cornucopia, framed with golden garlands and crowned with two turtledoves, a quiver, and a caduceus. The round medallion on the right is filled with two pink putti with a turtledove and an eagle, framed with golden garlands and crowned with a hunting horn and two dead pheasants. The whole is surrounded by floral garlands. The back of the leaf is unworked.
