Folding fan with a paper leaf painted in watercolor and gold, depicting a pastoral scene, flanked by oval medallions and musical instruments with ribbons, on an open frame of ivory. In the large central cartouche, a seated man gives a bird to a standing woman with an open birdcage. The couple is placed before a pedestal or small structure decorated with stone garlands and green leafy garlands. On this, the foot of a vase or sphere is visible. To the right of the couple is a thicket, to the left a pond with buildings in the background and two sheep in the foreground. To the left of the central cartouche is an oval medallion containing a bunch of grapes and two peaches, on a green-blue ribbon; to the right an oval medallion containing a squirrel on a melon(?), on a violet ribbon. Between these is a stringed instrument, a recorder, sheet music, two flutes(?), and a horn on a pink ribbon. Below this whole is a large dragonfly or butterfly.
