About this work

Collar of natural-coloured ribbon lace: Luxeuil lace. Semi-circular model. The symmetrical pattern with spiral vines, French lilies, large rosette flowers and triple leaves is formed by a wide woven ribbon and is inspired by duchesse lace. For connection of motifs and also within the motifs needle lace decorative stitches have been applied. The scalloped edge results from the pattern where the loop-forming ribbon forms the motifs and thereby also the scallops, the edge is finished all around with an arched edge.
