Jabot of machine-made lace with drop-shaped leaf and round flower

Jabot of natural-coloured machine-made lace: machine-made Valenciennes lace. On a standing band a lace strip is sewn in a zigzag pattern, so that the jabot falls back and forth seven times. At the top a cut-out embroidered rose is set. The repeating pattern consists of a hanging drop-shaped leaf with a round flower on a short curved stem. The motifs are connected by a machine-made Valenciennes ground with square mesh. Around each leaf along the underside of the strip a half-round shell is formed, where the mesh ground passes into a strip. The upper side of the strip is finished straight and then fixed in a zigzag manner as described above. The scalloped edge along the underside is finished with picots.
