About this work
Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace, Lille lace. The repeating pattern consists on the center line of a short loose branch with two berries attached. Along the lower edge lie very narrow, elongated ovals, which are linked together with a flower or leaf. The motifs are connected to each other by a fine mesh ground, a tulle ground. In the very small motifs a decorative ground is applied, which is hardly visible due to the thicker shiny contour threads that are used. The upper edge is finished straight. The very shallow, elongated shells along the lower edge are finished with picots.
