About this work
Strip of natural-colored mixed lace: Venetian bobbin lace. Elongated pattern with a wavy runner across the full width bearing palmette flowers, club-shaped leaves, rosette flower and four different palmette flowers. The runner and the contours of the motifs are formed by a woven ribbon. Within the contours various (decorative) grounds made with festoon stitches. The motifs are connected by a square mesh ground (needle lace). The upper side is finished straight. The underside is finished with a straight picot edge with arches.
