About this work

Strip of natural-coloured Brussels appliqué lace: bobbin lace applied on machine-made tulle. On a fine hexagonal mesh ground, along the underside a series of small, uniform, rosette flowers are sewn. Above that a row with alternately a circle and a hanging branch with a round flower and two leaves. Motifs in bobbin lace with linen stitch, cut-outs as decorative elements and scalloped relief contours. The upper side is finished straight with a wide festooned thread bundle.
