About this work
Strip of natural-colored cotton with lace embroidery: English embroidery. The pattern has strongly wavy double 'pearl string' swags of openwork circles. On each wave crest stands a daisy to which hangs a drop-shaped 'pearl string' with a daisy again in the center. In each wave trough hangs a loose flower branch hanging diagonally downwards with three daisies and various leaves and leaf sprigs. The scallop border follows the pattern where the scallop under the drop-shaped string is just slightly smaller than the scallop under the wave trough with the hanging flower branch.
