About this work
Strip of natural-colored cotton with lace embroidery: English embroidery. Tightly packed geometric pattern with two rows of diamonds formed by embroidered straight zigzag bands. The bottom (third) row is halved resulting in zigzag scallops. Between the bands with diamonds and the zigzag scallops elongated hexagonal fields are formed with a daisy in each hexagon featuring openwork petals and an elongated pointed oval flower heart. In the zigzag bands rows of openwork circles and at each intersection between all fields an openwork circle with needle lace stitches is present.
