Strip of bobbin lace with hanging bellflowers

Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace: Lille lace. Below a scatter pattern of square motifs, the repeating pattern consists of a hanging goblet flower, on a curved stem with three round leaves. The goblet flowers are placed against each other and form the shells along the lower side of the strip. The motifs are connected by a fine grid ground, a tulle ground. The filling in the goblet flower is made in linen stitch, with an openwork center band and provided with thicker and shiny outline threads. The stem and leaves are made with outline threads where a decorative ground is used in the leaves. The motifs are made in mold stitch. The upper side of the strip is finished straight. The shells along the lower side are finished with picots.
