About this work

Strip of natural-coloured needle lace: Alençon lace. The centre field shows a coarse, the border a fine mesh ground. The field is filled with scattered eyes. The transition is formed by double garlands, of which one consists of a ribbon, the other of a vine with leaves. Fine scallop border of circles with various decorative stitches.
