Strip of bobbin lace with pearl strings and ovals

Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace: Lille lace. The repeating pattern along the lower half of the strip consists of a string of ovals, alternately formed by a string of pearls and a stylized incised leaf. The upper half of the strip consists of a fine net ground, a tulle ground. The sparse solid work is made in linen stitch, with thicker and shiny contour threads. In the ovals one type of decorative ground is applied that forms circles, so-called 'pins'. The top and bottom edges are finished straight, with the underside provided with picots.
